Mini Library and Book Bank

From 1995 to 2002 Nijera Shikhi established 24 People’s Academies and Mini Libraries in 6 districts.  96,000 learners were able to benefit from these
resources. 

In 2003 Nijera Shikhi handed over these centres to the local communities,
keeping 3 mini libraries with book banks in the 3 branch offices.  The users of these books are the field workers, teachers, trainers, and committee members of the microcredit group.  

Nijera Shikhi also maintains 24 mini libraries in areas with 100 books in
steel boxes, to maintain the adult literacy of previous learners.
