HIV-AIDS Prevention Programme
HIV-AIDS is a concern at the borders of Bangladesh and India where truck
drivers and rickshaw pullers are more at risk of contracting the disease.
Two seminars were held at Kalaroa and Monirampur with 50 participants
of administration, media representatives, businessmen, teachers, truck
drivers, rickshaw drivers, and general labourers in June and December
2009.
Each participant was asked to discuss the issues with at least 20 neighbours, to pass on the messages to reduce the
incidence of AIDS.
