Team Literacy Application
I would like to join Team Literacy, a team of people who are committed to working with Nishi in providing seed funding to re-start a people literacy movement in Bangladesh.
As a member of Team Literacy, when contacted by Nishi, I pledge to donate the amount detailed below as a part of a team funding a print run of materials for 10,000 learners.

Please Gift Aid your donation if you are a UK tax payer. We are relying on the Gift Aid income to substitute for people whose change circumstances prevent them from funding a particular print run.

Gift Aid my donation now and in the future
I confirm I have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) that I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for that tax year. I understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify. I understand the charity will reclaim 28p of tax on every £1 that I gave up to 5th April 2008 and will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give on or after 6th April 2008. Please notify Nijera Shikhi UK if you: Want to cancel this declaration Change your name or home address No longer pay sufficient tax on you income and/or capital gains. If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
What your pledge means
Nishi appreciates that people's circumstances change and that while you currently intend to make donations for future print runs you may not be able to guaranteed to do this. For each print run we will email you so that you can then make a decision about being a part of the team financing that particular print run. So in joining Team Literacy your commitment is to being contacted to make a donation to help finance future print runs. We do not anticipate approaching people to fulfil their pledges more than once a year.
What your pledge “buys”
A
s a part of its work Nishi will also be experimenting with self-financing models with graduates from its courses donating funding for future learners from their increased income, i.e. “seed funding”. We anticipated that it may take several rounds of activity to develop a sustainable self-funding model. With each donation you make you will:
be a part of a team helping up to 10,000 people to become literate
helping us to develop a self-financing and growing movement to eradicate illiteracy from Bangladesh
enable us to do this in a low-cost, efficient way, so that our effort is focussed on delivery.
